Revisiting Silo City (on-going)

An on-going effort to document and investigate Silo City, Buffalo, New York as a now-obsolete node of the American agricultural and transshipment system. This involved the mass compilation of historical documents to map the current state of grain elevators within the area: attesting to its demoded economic function.

The now-defunct Concrete Central Grain Elevator became an artifact of interest to further compound on what Reyner Banham referred to as both “mechanical system” and “monument.” This investigation prompts questions of systems and subsystems and further subsystems.
